Coaching Staff - David del Castillo
Hello everyone, My name is David del Castillo and I will be co-coaching the U12 Gold “Maquina”with my great friends, Roberto Alberto and Jake Warren this year. I am a first generation Canadian of Uruguayan/Argentine descent who is deeply passionate about the game.
My experiences in soccer have been at the youth club level in Canada and on the streets, parks and beaches of Montevideo, Uruguay from the ages of 5 to 17. The time I spent in Uruguay playing for fun is where I saw, and participated in, some of the most beautiful and skillful soccer of my life. It forever linked me to my heritage and the rich history of the game. It also gave me great insight into the vast differences between Canadian and Latin American ideologies in the game.
I have 4 children and my sons Diego & Benicio (the youngest 2) are my first to exhibit the same fervor for fútbol as I had as a young child and, consequently, they have proven the catalyst for my current involvement at the coaching and administrative levels today. I endeavor to bring passion and an intuitive understanding of the game to our lads in 'La Maquina'. I believe that this game binds humanity and that through it we can all discover our similarities over our differences. Win or lose, we hope to play a small part in the building of little men through the game.
Some of you I know and others I look forward to becoming more acquainted with over the course of the 2010/11 season.
VAMOS LA MAQUINA - PODEMOS!!!!! ( WE CAN )
